oh the places you find plants

I found a new plant on the top of the dumpster near my apt.
Dumpster diving or at least snatching from the top is awesome and a great way to get things for free that you need or can sell that are already used and therefore you are not adding to the creation of more stuff and you are keeping something out of a landfill. Everyone should go get stuff out of dumpsters!!! I also found carpet and a big pot which i will need in the future because a few of my plants will become very large but that is for another post.
I have no idea what it is but its in a hanging basket and it has the prettiest purple pink flowers. I think I'm going to have to bring it inside for the winter which may pose a difficulty if it has to remain hanging. Well, in actuality even if it doesn't have to remain hanging the pot is too big for my windowsill that I am using for plants at the moment. This being one of the few places the demon spawn known as Avalon and Pischa (my cats) won't get into the plants. I'd post a picture but I have no idea how to get them off my phone. Here begings the saga of the purple-pink-flowered-hanging-basket-dumpster-plant.
P.S. anyone know how to clean carpet that has been chilling outside for who knows how long that I want to bring inside and place strategically around the house so the cats stop ripping up my carpet???

You could try tossing the carpet in the washer, depending on how big the pieces are...if it's too big I found this:
For a heavy duty carpet cleaner, mix 1/4 cup each of salt, borax and vinegar. Rub paste into carpet and leave for a few hours. Vacuum.
(you can find borax in pretty much any cleaning aisle, and it's not too harmful, if you want to skip it I'd say just increase the salt a bit and see how that works)

As soon as you get pics of the plant up I'll try and identify it for you, and congrats on the new blog, you now have a place on my daily sites list! ^_^
